China’s Huawei has installed 500 Telepresence systems worldwide targeting 1000 more in 2011

China’s Huawei has installed 500 Telepresence systems worldwide and is targeting a further 1000 Telepresence systems in 2011; its new Telepresence model TP3106 was shown recently at MWC Barcelona and CEBIT Hanover

28 March 2011 - Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions and Unified communication solutions around the world, unveiled its new Telepresence solution TP3106 respectively at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona in February 2011 and at CEBIT 2011 in Hanover in March. General availability of the Huawei TP3106 is scheduled for Q2 2011.

Huawei demonstrated thru a direct Internet IP link in a multipoint Telepresence session, its Telepresence server VP8650, connecting its European Headquarter in Dusseldorf to 3 other Telepresence platforms installed at itsBooth at Cebit in Hanover. The Telepresence systems used for this multi-site meeting were: 2 Huawei  TP1002s, a TP3006 and the new TP3106.

The Huawei TP3106 Telepresence solution offers 1080p 50/60 Full HD videoand delivers key features such as:
- Dual stream HD video quality and high audio fidelity
- AAC-LD 48K triple track sound
- 1920 x 1080 pixels data and content sharing
- Standard-based and interoperable withSIP or H.323
 TIP support (promised for Q2-2011)
- AES encryption
- IMS ready
- Android tablet as the control panel

Steve Tang, WEU Director, Videoconference and Telepresence business division said: "Regardless of whether customers are using legacy Videoconferencing or Telepresence systems, Huawei is excited to deliver an end-to-end solution. Huawei offers Dual Stream HD video (1080p 30fps) capability to address vertical applications such as Telemedecine, e-Education. Our architecture provides connectivity with any device: Videophone, Videoconferencing, Soft Clients for PC or Mac, smart phones, tablets. By February 2011, we have installed 500 plus Telepresence systems worldwide, and we are targeting to install 1000 plus Telepresence systems in 2011 Worldwide".

Huawei has invited all their customers at MWC Barcelona and CEBIT Hanover to make use of one of their own 100 plus Telepresence Meeting Rooms installed Worldwide and linked over the Huawei Intranet; theycan then experience a full immersive Telepresence conference on a point-to-point or multipoint call over Huawei’s installed MPLS backbone.

Huawei is also working with its partner network in Europe to form a Network of Experts delivering High quality Huawei Unified Communications solutions.
