8th February 2012:
With over 40,000 visitors against Infocomm’s 33,000, ISE in Amsterdam is now the top-ranked show for the AV / Systems integration / UC marketplace. However in my view it seemed that last year’s Orlando event saw more players from, and visitors interested in, the video communications side of things.
Venue layout may have a lot to do with visitor numbers. Most of the VC players were located in Hall 12 at the RAI in Amsterdam, which was to the side of one of the main walkways, with the effect that people walked past the hall, rather then through it. Contrast this with Infocomm in Florida where VC was an integral part of one of the main halls, which ensured there were lots of delegates who otherwise might not have seen these stands.
However the VC exhibitors I spoke with were generally happy with the event and although the numbers coming onto their stands may sometimes not have been high, the quality was good, and that’s what counts at the end of the day. See our next story for a view from one of the exhibitors, CeeLab.
Meanwhile I look forward to seeing if Infocomm 2012 in Las Vegas can beat ISE in Amsterdam.
