School District conducts interviews using VTEL videoconferencing via Sprint broadband cellular

2nd November 2011:
Lubbock Independent School District is utilizing VTEL IPanels, along with Sprint broadband cellular connectivity, to enable simple and effective videoconference interviews with candidates all over the country for teaching positions. Rick Rodriguez, Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources for Lubbock ISD, deploys a VTEL videoconferencing system to colleges with a Sprint aircard in lieu of sending a person for the purpose of interviewing prospective teachers.

“Because the VTEL IPanel is capable of both H.323 and Skype video calls, it is possible to conduct a videoconference interview with virtually anyone, anywhere. The VTEL system offers unprecedented versatility for our application and has proven to be a highly affordable group videoconferencing system,” says Rodriguez.

Powered by the Sprint 4G Mobile Broadband network, VTEL brings companies an all-in-one applications platform, the VTEL IPanel that allows HDTV viewing, PC applications, Internet applications, and videoconferencing. Furthermore the machine-to-machine capability of VTEL IPanel allows for increased productivity at reduced cost while using the Sprint 4G network. Not only does the VTEL IPanel allow businesses to have a smoother and faster connection via Sprint 4G, it also gives customers the ability to connect directly and securely into their Intranet using Sprint DataLink.
