Saudi Telecom Company (STC), one of the leading telecommunications operators in the region, and First Video Company (FVC), a value added distributor in the MENA region, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide Telepresence and video-conferencing services.
The resulting integrated solution aims to improve and enrich customer experience in the Enterprise sector with ‘Managed Video Service’, the service considered to be the first of its kind in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Homoud Al Kusayer, VP for STC Wholesale Business Unit, commented, “We plan to set new standards in videoconferencing. Our integrated solutions will address customers’ desire to enjoy high quality video-conferencing with comfort and ease, regardless of distance between the participants.”
Yakob Kafina, General Manager of FVC Saudi Arabia, stated, “Combining STC’s state-of-art network infrastructure with FVC’s innovative technology and video-conferencing services would improve the productivity and business effectiveness of enterprise customers. We are honored to partner with STC particularly during this period of high demand for video-conferencing and collaboration services in the Region.”
‘Telepresence’ is considered to be the first service of its kind in the Kingdom, incorporating VNOC (video network operations centre) and offering Managed Video Services.
‘Telepresence’ provides STC’s customers with a unified service that includes bandwidth, bridging services, Polycom video conferencing systems and device management. The service is powered by Polycom infrastructure and expertise from FVC in successfully delivering video conferencing and VNOC services.
STC’s managed services are aimed at helping to enhance the value of IT business investments through increasing operational efficiency, and to allow business to maintain control over their IT operations and infrastructure while they focus on managing their core business activities.
