AT&T, BCS Global, Airtel Business, BT, Glowpoint, Masergy, and Orange Business Services launch first multi-network, multi-platform video collaboration services
The Open Visual Communications Consortium announced today the first wave of OVCC compliant enterprise video services are now available from OVCC members AT&T, BCS Global, Airtel Business, BT, Glowpoint and Orange Business Services. Enterprise users can now visually collaborate with more people, more simply, promoting productive and cost-effective visual collaboration with customers, colleagues, suppliers and distributors around the world.
Additionally, OVCC members AT&T, Airtel Business, Masergy and Orange Business Services developed the OVCC compliant interconnect network that supports the new interoperable video services available to enterprise users.
With this release of the first OVCC compliant video services, the organization delivers its launch promise of marketable, commercial OVCC services in 2012. The new video services are compliant with the OVCC blueprint and are offered by each OVCC member service provider under its own brand. The groundbreaking OVCC blueprint provides global video interoperability at business and network levels that profitably and predictably interconnects and monetizes service providers’ video exchanges, which should accelerate adoption of visual collaboration services.
“The OVCC blueprint has accelerated business and connectivity agreements needed for members to offer multi-network, multi-vendor video services while assuring high-quality performance and user experience in this first wave of OVCC compliant services. OVCC members will use the innovative blueprint to extend their visual communication services broadly, regardless of network, vendor or device,” said Andrew McFadzen, president of the Open Visual Communications Consortium. “Enterprise users will schedule video collaboration meetings, pushing beyond corporate firewalls and proprietary platforms to collaborate effectively with more people.”
Enterprise customers can use OVCC compliant services to expand the reach and use of video collaboration, thereby increasing productivity and decreasing costly travel throughout their entire value chains. Customers should contact their service providers directly for details of OVCC compliant service offerings.
