As part of MeetingZone’s active expansion strategy the company has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the shares of Malmo based Confy AB and its wholly owned Norwegian subsidiary Confy AS. Confy is one of Sweden’s leading conferencing and collaboration solution providers.
“Confy is an extremely good fit for MeetingZone. Both organisations share the same undivided focus on delivering the highest levels of customer service. Like MeetingZone, Confy also understands the need to provide conferencing and collaboration solutions based on an advanced service platform with automation at its core,” explained Tim Duffy, MeetingZone. “The advantage of automated systems is that it puts customers in control of service provision and eliminates billing errors.”
Since MeetingZone, an independent conferencing and collaboration service provider with a UK HQ and operations in Europe and North America was acquired by GMT Communications Partners (GMT) last year, it has been able to forge ahead with strategic acquisitions to increase its global presence, with an initial focus on the strong and well established Nordic market. The acquisition of Confy complements MeetingZone’s recent acquisition (November 2011) of another leading Swedish conferencing provider, Unified Communication.
“I, and the entire Confy team, are very positive about the acquisition as we see the great business opportunities it will deliver. Together we will be able to strengthen our position within the Nordic market by offering our existing and potential new customers a wider range of conferencing and collaboration services,” said Renée Fredlund, Confy’s CEO. “Importantly, the acquisition provides an increased market presence for those of our global customers with an HQ here in the Nordics.”
Despite the tough economic climate the audio and web conferencing marketplace continues to grow as companies of all sizes, across all sectors, realise the business benefits they deliver by helping to reduce operating costs at the same time as increasing levels of productivity and efficiency which drive up the all important bottom line.
There will be no changes in Confy’s company structure and its customers’ existing contracts and services will continue as normal. Customers should continue to liaise with their current Confy contacts.
“The acquisition of Confy will play a key role in helping MeetingZone increase its global footprint as it meets the demand for proven technology solutions which will help companies survive the current financial recession, not just in Scandinavia but across the world,” concluded Fredlund.
